Objective: Introduce percentage, its use in daily life

Subtopics to be covered:

- Define percentage

- Convert percentage into fraction and vice versa

- Convert ratio into percentage

Learning Outcome:

- Students can write a given fraction or a ratio into percentage

- They can solve word problems based on percentage

1. Count the number of classmates of the opposite gender in your class and represent the same in the form of percentage.

2. Represent the number of hours in a day you spend in school in the form of percentage.

3. Ask the students to represent what percentage of their family are they. (Ex: if there are 4 members in a family, the percentage would be 25%)

4. # Line 10 stones up in a row. If you give 2 stones to your best friend, what fraction of stones do you still have left?

  1. Line up 9 stones in a row. If you give 3 stones to your best friend, what ratio of stones do you have left?
  2. In which scenario do you retain a lesser percentage of stones?
