2. It is possible to cast multiple shadows of an object at the same time. Try to understand how this can be done and try to create this on your own. Observe the intensity of the shadow in this case. Observe the players in a day-night cricket match.

3. Observe and understand how and why the length of the shadow of a light pole changes during the day.

Lesson Plan version 1.1 activities

1. Make your room dark by shutting the door and windows but turn on the lights. Look at an object in the room

Hold another object (e.g. writing pad) in front of your face. Can you still see the first object in your room?

2. Try to form shadows of a book, a pen, a duster, a polythene cover. Do you find any differences in the shadows in the above objects?

3. Take 4 balls of equal size but different colour. Try and form shadow of each ball. Ask your friend who is facing screen and not able to see the balls to guess the colour of each ball

4. Observe the shadows of a book, a pen a duster, a ball and a round plate, one by one, in sunlight. While doing this, rotate the objects to change their positions and observe the changes in shadows

5. Take a rectangular piece of cardboard. Try to form shadows of different shapes by using it. You can do this in the sunlight or with the light from torch
