Objective: To teach students about data handling and presenting data in various forms
Subtopics to be covered:
- Introduction
- Recalling the Formation of Frequency Table (For Ungrouped/ Grouped data)
- Drawing Histogram and Frequency Polygon for Grouped Data
- Construction of Simple Pie chart
- Measures of Central Tendency (Arithmetic Mean, Median and Mode)
Learning Outcome:
- Students are able to draw histogram to represent the given data/ table.
- Students are able to prepare a frequency table for the given data using class interval.
- Students can draw a frequency polygon imposed on the histogram for a given distribution.
- Students are able to to draw a frequency polygon without using histogram.
- Students are able to construct a pie chart by using the measure of angle.
- Students are able to draw a pie chart to represent given information.
- Students can calculate Arithmetic Mean, Median and Mode.

1. Make a measuring scale on a wall till 180 cm. Measure the height of every student in your class on that scale.
Group students with same height. Make a table of length and number of students with same height (eg: 100 cm, 110 cm 120 cm…)
Find the range, mean and median of your class height.
Also, make a frequency table with class interval of 10 cm and make a fresh table of the data collected. Make a bar graph of this data and show the height of your class on a chart paper.
2. Collect last week's attendance attendance from your class. Make a table of how many students were present on the 6 days. (Monday, Tuesday, .... ). Check what is the average attendance of the class for the week
Draw a bar chart if you can on the attendance
