1. Share the names of animals and ask students what are the uses of these animals. Why do we rear them?
Dog, Cow, Bull, Ox, Hen, Fish, Honeybee
2. Shall we check if the honey we get is pure or not? Get few samples of honey. Take a glass of water. Add a drop of honey to it. If the drop of honey reaches the bottom without dissolving, then the honey is pure. If the drop of honey dissolves before reaching the bottom then the honey is impure.

Lesson plan version 1.1 activities
1. Children, do you have a pet animal? Shall we write down what we do when our pet is:
A. Hungry..........................
B. Feeling hot or cold......................
C. Teased by someone....................
D. Hurt …………
2. Ask the children to collect pictures of animals that produce wool and ask them to paste the pictures of things made of wool, using in their day to day life. Ask them to note the places where silk is famous. Why silk is called “Queen of Fibres”?
3. Let us collect pictures of animals that produce wool and paste them in the scrapbook.
4. Let us mark the places in the map of Tamil Nadu where silk is produced and woven into fibres and clothes.
5. Ask the students to explore in the nearby garden or plant where honeybees used to take honey and ask them to notice how they bring the honey to the hive.
6. Ask the students to meet the nearby poultry or cattle shed to know how egg and milk are obtained from animals.
7. Collect different types of animal eggs. Display in the classroom. Hen, duck, lizard, crow, turkey.
