Objective: Introduce Types of Numbers and Divisibility Tests to group numbers

Subtopics to be covered:

- Revise Multiples, Factors, Prime and Composite numbers, Odd and Even numbers

- Prime Numbers till 50

- Divisibility by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10

- How to find LCM and HCF for given set of numbers

Learning Outcome:

- Students can group numbers from a given set as asked: Odd, Even, Prime, Composite, Multiples, Factors

- Students can identify if a given number passes any of the divisibility tests

- Students can find LCM and HCF for a set of numbers

Activities

1. Stand on the ends of the classroom making a huge circle. Start counting from 1. When it is time to say 4, say Meow. Again at 8 say Meow. If you say the number (table of 4) you are out. Let us see who wins. Repeat this game for table of 6, 7, 8 etc.

2. Play the same game for odd and even numbers too. Use different sounds for fun (Bow-bow, quack, brrrrrr etc)

3. Make number cards from 1 - 50. Place them all in order. Play in pairs. One student picks a number card. Other student has to pick all the cards that are factors of the number picked. If there are no factors, the student can't pick any card. Then the second student picks a card and first student will pick all factor cards. Continue till all the cards are taken up. The student with maximum cards wins.
