Objective: To teach the students about various types of plants and animals and how they are classified

Subtopics to be covered:

- Types of plants

- Classification of plants based on stem, life span and habitat

- Types of animals

- Classification of animals based on cell structure, habitat, vertebral column, method of reproduction

Learning Outcome:

- Students know about various types of plants and animals and how they are classified

- They know the unique characteristics of each plant and animal

1. What are herbivores? Name two herbivores found around your house.

2. Visit a place near your home and observe the plants and trees there. Collect leaves and flowers of different plants and make a collage of them in your notebook. Discuss different properties of the plants found in the park/garden. Which plant in the garden you liked the most and why. Discuss its properties and usefulness.

3. Name any two of the following: Wild Animals, Pet Animals, Farm Animals, Herbs, Trees, Shrubs

4.  Plant a seed in your school and water it daily. Observe its growth and write down your experience in diary.

5.  Circle the odd one out:

- Ant, Mosquito, Butterfly, Eagle

- Monkey, Octopus, Owl, Crow

- Fish, Whale, Dolphin, Lion

- Giraffe, Zebra, Tiger, Cow

6.  Create your own zoo book. Collect and paste pictures of different animals in your notebook.
