Activities

[Contributors - Kripa S, Swapnali Shrikhande]

1. Quiz: Ram takes bath once in two days. Shyam takes bath once in three days. How many times in a month do they take bath on the same day ?

2. Stand on the ends of the classroom making a huge circle. Start counting from 1. When it is time to say 4, say Meow. Again at 8 say Meow. If you say the number (table of 4) you are out. Let us see who wins. Repeat this game for table of 6, 7, 8 etc.

3. Create flashcards with numbers on it. Group teams as per classroom size, and distribute the flashcards and sketch pens. Ask students to colour numbers divisible by 2 with red, those divisible by 3 with blue, those divisible by 4 with purple, and those divisible by 5 with brown, and so on. Also go for higher 2-digit divisibility to further increase classroom engagement.

4. Prepare groups of two students. One student will roll the dice and the other student will make a two-digit number from it that is divisible by either 2, 3 and 5 (Example: If the dice rolls 3, the student will make any 2 digit number consisting 3 and divisible by 3 (33, 36, 63, etc). The students will take turns and record their answers along with the number and its divisor.
