Tenses

Dear Volunteer Teacher,

We have provided learning outcomes and an abstract for the grammar topic along with lesson outlines, worksheets and ppt deck.
Thank you.

Abstract

Tenses refer to the state or time of a verb or action. It comprises 3 major tenses- Past, Present and Future. Let us take an example to understand the grammar for class 9 and 10 better.
Past Tense: The actions that have already occurred. It is indicated by adding “-ed” after the infinitive verb or adding words like “was” or “were”.
For Example,

  • Kriti played football.
  • He was going to the market yesterday.

Present Tense: The actions which are currently happening, or when a fundamental fact is stated. It is generally indicated by adding “-s” after the infinitive verb, but not necessarily, such as hear, tear, play, etc.
For Example,

  • Kriti plays football.
  • I read books.

Future Tense: The actions that haven’t occurred yet. Generally, the words like “will” added between subject and an infinitive verb are indicative of future tense.
For Example,

  • I will go to the fair tomorrow.
  • They will go to the market.
