Lesson Plan version 1.1 activities

1. Select 5 learners and ask each of them to think of any number (The learners should not disclose the numbers they have picked). Then, ask them to multiply the number by 2 and then by 5. Now, ask the learners to tell you that answer. Thereafter, tell each of them the number that they had thought of.

This is how the trick works. Suppose a learner has selected number 6. Now, multiplying 6 by 2 gives 12 and then multiplying this number by 5 gives the answer 60. So, when the learner says the answer is 60, all you have to do is to drop the last number, which in this case is 0, so you have 6. Number 6 is what the learner had thought.
