Go To: DSERT-Science-Grade 5

[edit]

[Contributor - Anu Nived]

Objective: To teach the students about various matters and their characteristics

Subtopics to be covered:

1. Particle and Matter

2. Properties of Matter

3. Effects of heat on Matter

Learning Outcome:

1. Students know that matter is made up of particles

2. They know that the matter changes its state when heated

3. They know the concepts of mass, density, sublimation and buoyancy

[Contributor - Adil Faisal]

1. Ask the students to observe their surroundings write the names of objects present in one column and write in which form the matter is present in another column. Example: water-liquid, bottle-solid.

2. Take half jar of water and then pour oil into the same jar which contains water. Does water mix with oil? If water doesn’t mix with water what is the reason behind it. Have a discussion on the same after performing the activity.
