Objective:To teach the students about cell and cell diversity

Subtopics to be covered:

- Discovery of cell and cell structure

- Unicellular and multicellular organisms

Learning Outcome:

- Students know that all living things are made of cells

- They know about the difference between plant cells and animal cells

- They also know that cells are of different size and shape

Boil a hen’s egg. Remove the shell. What do you observe? A white material surrounds the yellow part. White material is albumin which solidifies on boiling. The yellow part is yolk. It is part of the single cell. You can observe this single cell without any magnifying device.

Note: This activity can be done by students at home. Alternatively either the Class Assistant or few students can get boiled eggs to the school to observe this
