Objective: To teach the students about air, wind and cyclone

Subtopics to be covered:

  1. Properties of Air
  2. How winds are produced
  3. Cyclones - Formation/Destruction by cyclones
  4. Cyclones - Do's and Don't and Post cyclone measures

Learning Outcome:

  1. Students know the difference between air, wind and cyclone
  2. They know why different areas have different temperatures
  3. They know the safety measures to be taken before cyclones
  4. They are also aware that with the advanced technology, it is easier to learn about cyclones

1. Crumple a small piece of paper into a ball of size smaller than the mouth of an empty bottle. Hold the empty bottle on its side and place the paper ball just inside its mouth. Now try to blow on the ball to force it into the bottle. Try the activity with bottles of different sizes. Challenge your friends if they can force the paper ball in by blowing into the bottle.

2. Hold a strip of paper, 20 cm long and 3 cm wide, between your thumb and forefinger. Now blow over the paper.
