1. Ask the students to translate the various relations from their local language to English
2. Write the various relations (like Uncle, Grandmother, Grandfather, Cousin, Nephew, etc.) in colourful cards. Divide the class into two. One person from the team has to come to the front of the class and pick one card. He/she has to then describe that relation. For example, if the card contains the word ‘Grandmother’, the student has to say ‘Mother’s mother’. The other team must guess the word in the card.
3. Role plays- The kids can dress up as various members of the family or can hold a placard with a name written on it. The one who is narrating can go around introducing every character.
Eg: The narrator introduces the student playing the role of grandmother like this- ‘She is my mother’s mother. I call her grandmother. She narrates stories to me every night. I am her grand daughter.
