Objective: To learn how to measure length, area, volume, time based on given information

Subtopics to be covered:

- Measuring instruments

- SI units to measure length, weight, time, current, temperature

- Conversion of units for length, weight, time

Learning Outcome:

- Students know how to measure with given data (eg: speed = distance/time)

- Students can convert units of measurement

- Students can solve problems based on conversion of units

1. Make 3 groups of 5 students each. Any 5 students run (or hop or walk) from one point to another (fixed distance) one by one. Record the time taken. The Speed of each student is the distance run (or hop or walk) divided by time taken.

2. Ask the students to use their hand to measure the length their classroom blackboard. Now ask the class assistant to use his/her hand to measure the length of the blackboard. Write down how many times student's hand = how many times CA's hand = length of the blackboard.
