Lesson Plan version 1.1 activities
1. Material required :2 magnets attraction, repulsion demonstrates magnetic force and a comb rubbed over hair attract bits of paper to demonstrate electrostatic forces.
2. Take an empty box, tie a string around it and pull the box slowly on a smooth surface of a floor. Do you feel any friction? Try pulling the same box on the different surfaces over the floor, such as a thick sheet of cloth, a sheet of coir mat, a sheet of rubber, a sheet of greasy paper and finally on a sand bed. What change do you observe in the magnitude of friction?.
Repeat the same activity using the heavily filled box. Observe the difference. Note down the reason for the differences.
