Objectives: To teach the students about climatic changes, Decrease in Biodiversity count, threat to mankind and health due to waste accumulation, and role of Trees in enviornmental protection.

Subtopics to be covered:

  1. Climatic changes and its effects
  2. Atmosphere and ozone depletion
  3. Bio diversity - Importance and its threat
  4. Threats to human life due to waste - various diseases
  5. Importance of trees in protection of environment and how they help.

Learning Outcome:

  1. Students will get to know about the causes and effects of climatic changes
  2. Students get to know about the threats and risk to enviornment due to this changes.
  3. Students will get to learn about biodiversity loss, and why we should protect it.

1. Divide the class into three teams (Green, Yellow and Red). Team Green identifies those items which are biodegradable and list it down. Team Yellow identifies those items which are recyclable and list it down. Team Red identifies those items which are hazardous/non recyclable/non-biodegradable and should be put in a red dustbin. The team which could come up with more objects for their team will win.


2. Ask students to identify those animals/plants which were seen in their neighbourhood but are not seen anymore. Ask them to guess the reason for their disappearance. Discuss with the students about endangered/extinct animals/birds/plants. Discuss where were they found before and what could be the reasons for their extinction.
