Objective: To learn more about natural ways how rocks are made

- Ores , minerals obtained from ores, by products released

- Fossils, how are they formed

- Uses of Fossil Fuel

- Students know the types of rocks, ores and minerals obtained

- Students can tell the uses of fossil fuel

1. Look around you, what are the substances that are natural and which are manmade?

2. Take a little soil. Break the clumps with your hand to powder it. Now take a glass tumbler, three quarters filled with water, and then add a handful of soil to it. Stir it well with a stick to dissolve the soil. Now let it stand undisturbed for some time. Observe the layers of soil and take notes.

3.What are the products of fossil fuels that you use in your household? Discuss usage of coal, kerosense, gas etc. Explore and make a chart.
