1. Show students a clear plastic container with water (preferably rectangular). Ask them on how much water they think is filled in the container? Students may start guessing with x number of cups/tumbler as unit.
 +
 +
2. Show students standard 1 litre, and 500 millilitre containers and of different shapes. Ask the students:
 +
 +
a. Demonstrate that different shapes of same 1litre container hold same quantity of water.
 +
 +
b. Between 500ml and 1l containers, which container is larger and which one do they think can hold more water?
 +
 +
c. Ask them to determine the relationship between both the containers.
 +
 +
3. To demonstrate multiplication: Take 2 500ml jars and a 1l jar. Show that the 1l jar can be filled with the ‘2’ 500ml jars of water, thus 2 x 500ml = 1000ml = 1litre. Similarly show that water in ‘one’ 500ml can be equally divided into ‘two’ 250ml jars

4. Make group of 2 students and give them 6 block pieces/empty matchboxes. Ask them to make different patterns and how many different patterns they could make?

1. How many glasses of water do you drink everyday. Make a table entering the quantity of water you drink after an activity in ml/ litre

2. Collect empty matchboxes. Make different patterns using the matchboxes and count them.

3. How many different patterns can you make using 6 blocks/ bricks/ boxes?
