Objective: To introduce the concept of angles and types of angles

Subtopics to be covered:

  1. How to form angles
  2. Types of angles (right angle, acute angle, obtuse angle)
  3. Angles and shapes
  4. Angles and Time
  5. Angles and Postures
  6. Angles and Alphabets

Learning Outcome:

  1. Students can classify angles into types
  2. They can identify different types of angles
  3. They can also draw different types of angles

1. Make 8-10 chits of different types of angles. Hand over one chit to one bench and ask them to enact what angle they are. Eg: If it is an acute angle, the students will stand close to middle student, if it is an obtuse angle, the students will stand far away from the middle student. If it is right angle, the students will stand on his one side and in front to depict 90 deg.

2. Make a team of 2-3 students. On student draws an angle and other student has to measure, third student will confirm if the measurement is correct. Repeat this step 4-5 times. This way the students can learn how to use a protractor.

3. Give each of the class students,9 sticks(of uniform length),paper cutouts of 13 triangles and 3 circles. Ask them to arrange on a paper and glue them to represent a :line, line segment, ray, parallel lines.

4. Give the students some matchsticks and make them arrange, stick it on a paper to represent a straight line,Acute angle,Obtuse Angle,Right Angle.
