Objective: To teach the students about crops, cultivation of crops and various agricultural practices

Subtopics to be covered:

  1. Types of crops
  2. Animal husbandry

Learning Outcome:

  1. Students can tell more about the variety of crops grown in different parts of the country with examples
  2. Students know about the various agricultural practices, Harvest festivals
  3. They know difference between manures and fertilizers
  4. They also know about modern technologies used in irrigation, tools used in sowing, ploughing etc

1. Find out from farmers in your village of their agricultural practices

2. Which are the Rabi and Kharif crops grown around you?

3. What are the tools used in fields in your village? Draw them in a book.

4. Record some other information about the crops. a) Irrigation method b) Effect of extreme hot or cold climate c) Effect of continuous rain d) Fertilizer or manure used
