Objective: To teach the students about the cell structure and its functions

Subtopics to be covered:

  1. Parts of the cell
  2. Difference between animal and plant cell

Learning Outcome:

  1. Students know about the discovery of cells
  2. They know about unicellular and multicellular organisms
  3. They are also aware of various shapes and size of cells
  4. They are also aware of various parts of a cell

Boil a hen’s egg. Remove the shell. What do you observe? A white material surrounds the yellow part. White material is albumin which solidifies on boiling. The yellow part is yolk. It is part of the single cell. You can observe this single cell without any magnifying device.

Note: This activity can be done by students at home. Alternatively either the Class Assistant or few students can get boiled eggs to the school to observe this
