Objective: To introduce concept of decimals with real life examples

Subtopics to be covered:

- Mesurement of length -> m-cm-mm and conversion

- Count of money -> Rs-Paise and conversion

- Place value of 1/10 and 1/100

Learning Outcome:

- Students know why decimal numbers are important

- They know how to write a decimal number

- They can solve simple addition problem on decimals

1. Take a cardpaper piece and draw a circle of any radius of your choice. Divide the circle into 8 equal parts. Shade each portion with a different colour (yellow, orange, red, pink, green, blue, violet, dark colour). Push a pen refill or a stick and rotate the sheet. See the colour of the rotating sheet and discuss why you see that colour.

2. Make team of two students. One student will say a number and other student will tell the decimal number when divided by 10 and 100.
