1. Make teams of 5 students. Ask students to give examples of things that have shape of a circle:

eg: chapati, moon, sun, earth, ball, bangle, coins etc.

The team with maximum examples win.

Lesson Plan version 1.1 activity

1. Ask the class assistant to draw a circle on the board.

Ask 5-6 students to come forward one by one and draw points on the board and name them.

Now ask rest of the class to classify these points as interior and exterior points.

2. Ask the students to find more real life examples where circles play a major role. Ask them to find out radius, chord and diameter of the circles from the real life examples.

3. Ask the students to find a circular object (Paper cup, Bangle, etc.)

Place it on paper. Sketch along the border of the circular object to form a circle.

Draw a point at the centre of the formed circle.

Draw straight line from centre point to any point on circle (Radius).

Draw a straight line from one point on circle to another point on the circle, without passing through the centre (Chord).

Draw a straight line from one point on circle to another point on the circle, passing through the centre (Radius).
