Lesson Plan version 1.1 activities

1. Ask students to draw congruent figures based on their understanding.

2. Draw an equilateral triangle on a sheet of paper. From one of the vertices, draw a perpendicular bisector to the base. Cut the sheet along the triangle and fold it along the perpendicular lines. You have two congruent right-angled triangles

3. Take a square sheet of paper and fold it along its diagonal. You will notice that two

triangles so formed by folding the

sheet are right angled triangles and

they superpose one on the other.

Take a rectangular sheet of paper, such that one of its side lengths is equal to the length of the square you had taken earlier and the other is different from the length of the

square. Draw one of its diagonals. Cut the sheet along the diagonal, to obtain two right triangles that superimpose on one another.
