1. Make two teams. One team will write a number on board, and other team will guess whether it is a rational number or not.
2. Make a chart of how rational numbers consists of integers, whole numbers, natural numbers.

1. Make two teams. One team will write a number on the board. The other will identify if it is a rational number.
2. Make a chart of how rational numbers consists of integers, whole numbers, natural numbers.
3. Ask students to try and prove the concept that if p1/q1 and p2/q2 are two equivalent rational numbers, then p1 * q2 = p2 * q1
4. Ask students to come up with 2 rational numbers for addition and subtraction. Ask other students if the numbers can be added/ subtracted directly or is there a need to calculate the LCM.
5. Put some flash cards with different decimal numbers in a box. Ask each student to take one card from it and read the decimal number written in the proper way and to say integer part as well as decimal part in it and to cite the place value of each digit.
Class assistant to help with the task.
6. Divide the students into groups. Give them one or two small objects each, like chalk, a ruler, a book, paper etc. and ask them the unit of measurement best suited for each. Class assistant to help in performing the task.
