1. Make a team of 2-3 students. On student draws an angle and other student has to measure, third student will confirm if the measurement is correct. Repeat this step 4-5 times. This way the students can learn how to use a protractor

2. Make 8-10 chits of different types of angles. Hand over one chit to one bench and ask them to enact what angle they are. Eg: If it is an acute angle, the students will stand with hands close to each other. If is a complementary angle, two students will stand making an angle with their hands so that total looks 90 deg.

Lesson Plan version 1.1 activities

1. Given a geometrical shape. Ask children to draw the figure in their note book. After it ask them to name the figure and identify all the pairs of intersecting line/ line segments and parallel lines.

2. Draw a line segment AB. Mark points K,L,M and N on the line segment AB. Mark 900 at M then draw an angular line and mark a point 'P 'on that line. Now join PK, PL, and PN. Measure the lengths of PK, PL, PM and PN using scale and measure angle PMB, angle PMA, angle PNM and angle PKL by using a protractor. Compare the lengths of PK, PL, PM and PN.

Mention the line that appears to be the least in length. Name the shortest length which stands on AB. Refer slide 5 for more problems on perpendicular lines.

3. Observe the lines drawn in your graph book and identify Parallel lines and Perpendicular lines. What difference do you observe between them?

4. List at least 5 examples from your surroundings where you see Parallel lines and Perpendicular lines.

5. Take a sheet of white paper. Make two or three folds length wise and crease it, then unfold the paper. Now fold the paper other than length wise and crease,

then unfold the paper. Mark the lines caused by folding using a pencil. Name the lines and intersecting points. Make a list of intersecting lines and transversal lines.

6. Fold a sheet of paper and crease it to get parallel lines and transversal lines. Name the lines and intersecting points. Write pairs of corresponding angles in each case and colour them

7. Ask children to do the activity on angles made by the transversal. For the same, draw two parallel lines and also draw a transversal on a sheet of paper, then mark the pair of alternate interior angles, alternate exterior angles and interior angles of the same side of the transversal and corresponding angles.
