Objective: To introduce framing a sentence and know about the key components of a sentence
Subtopics to be covered:
1. What is a sentence?
2. Two most important components of a sentence: subject and verb
3. What is an adjective?
4. What is a verb?
5. What is an adverb?
6. Write 10 small sentences using verbs, adverbs and adjectives
7. Introduce the students to the basic rules of a sentence
a) Always begins with a capital
b) Ends with a full stop
c) Questions end with a question mark
d) Use commas for items in a series (three or more items)
Learning Outcome:
- Students understand that 'subject' is an important part of a sentence. T
- They are able to identify the subject in simple sentences
- Students are able to identify simple verbs adverbs and adjectives in a sentence
- Students are able to use comma, full stop and question mark in simple sentences
