Objective: To learn about rhyming words and framing set of rhyming words

Subtopics to be covered:

1. Learn the purpose of specific sounds of vowels and consonances together to form sounds that rhyme

2. Identify rhyming words

3. Frame rhyming words

4. Develop and create new words that rhyme using substitution of letters in monosyllabic words

Learning Outcome:

1. Students can give example sets of rhyming words

2. They know how to change letters in words to make new words that rhyme

1. The teacher initiates the game by giving a word (e.g. mat) to a student. He/she then has to say a rhyming word. The next student has to say another rhyming word and so on until the teacher thinks that the students won't be able to give another rhyming word.Then the teacher can give another word to find rhyming words for. Students get eliminated if he/she is not able to give a rhyming word.


2. The teacher could show pictures of things (e.g., mat, pot, dog, etc.) and ask the students to write down as many rhyming words as they can.
