Objective: Learn relation between 2D and 3D shapes

Subtopics to be covered:

  1. Difference between a 2D figure and a 3D shape
  2. Vertex, edge and face for a 3D shape
  3. Convert a 3D shape into a 2D figure and vice versa (nets)
  4. View of a 3D shape from top, from a side , from front

Learning Outcome:

  1. Students can identify whether a given shape is a 2D plane figure or a 3D solid shape
  2. They know to draw 2D figure for a given 3D shape
  3. They can draw a front view, top view or a side view 2D figure for a 3D shape

1. Share examples of cube, pyramid, sphere from daily life. (example: ice cream cone, moon, ball, dice, brick etc)
